The right solution for individual needs.

We strive to achieve the best possible photovoltaic solution for our customers. From the first sketch, we work with architects, substructure manufacturers, electricians, and builders to develop the best active solution that combines aesthetics, performance and reliability.

Design meets function

Photovoltaic elements do not necessarily have to look like photovoltaic elements. Our wide product portfolio helps you to design the appearance of your property from “strikingly solar” to “subtly integrated”. The application possibilities are very diverse. With façades, light roofs, terraces, balconies and shading louvres, we can make your building envelope look attractive.

Coloured variants can be achieved with coloured cells, coloured foils, coloured glasses or printed glasses. Semi-transparent solutions are produced with different cell spacings or with semi-transparent cells that create a much more homogeneous shadow pattern. To ensure perfect integration into the environment, we offer insulating glass elements, edge treatments and hole drilling in addition to special shapes. We can produce modules up to a maximum size of 5000 x 2440 mm – that is a world record!

We are happy to work with your teams to showcase the range of possibilities and enrich your material library with some of our samples. Whether at an in-house event, a webinar, an informal coffee, remotely or at your offices, we can make your teams aware of the technical aspects of integration and provide you with the keys and guidelines for implementation to make your next active building envelope project a success!

Building for the future

Thanks to our know-how, some projects have already been able to cover up to 100% of the building’s electricity needs by generating local, carbon-free energy, but also to improve the occupants’ comfort by preventing glare and limiting solar radiation, all with a zero footprint. The photovoltaic envelope is of course not a universal solution, as its suitability depends in particular on the orientation of the building and the close shading from the surroundings. Nevertheless, consideration of its potential, both from an aesthetic and energy point of view, should be widely disseminated in order to improve the building’s energy balance.

Easy assembly

Do you want to reinvent the wheel or do you prefer a conventional solution for integrating solar modules into the building envelope? In any case, we will be happy to assist you with our knowledge of glass manufacturing and photovoltaics.

Since 2004, our modules have been used in a variety of mounting systems in more than 2300 projects. It is important to note that we only use PVB (polyvinyl butyral) film, as its proven long-term stability is known in the automotive and construction industries and it does not contain acetic acid or other aggressive components.
We are one of only a few providers to hold certifications in construction as well as in electronics and photovoltaic technology – two essential building blocks for realising stable installations in the long term. These certifications apply to a wide range of services and products.

What our clients say about us.

“ertex solar stands out particularly in its flexibility. This has enabled us to perfectly implement joint projects where standard manufacturers would have failed.
In addition to domestic added value, we attach great importance to the countless design possibilities, such as PV systems in facades, as roofing or as balcony railings, which should be used much more in the future.”

Billy Rieger, E-Billy

“With ertex solar everything came from a single source and with the combination of competent and professional customer service, we were able to implement the Solaris residential building according to our quality standards thanks to ertex solar.”

Adrian Berger, huggenbergerfries Architekten AG

“The cost-benefit ratio of the materials used in our solarium is 100%. We benefit from additional (and visually attractive) colours, which help our energy consumption in both summer and winter.”

Christa Gätz-Thurnher, Alco Wintergärten

“For the photovoltaic units to be integrated into the architecture, they must already be planned for at the design stage – ideally in collaboration with experts in the industry.

Arne Winkelmann, curator and publicist, Frankfurt am Main

“It was difficult to find a manufacturer for our 3 x 4m panels. Everyone wanted to, but at the end of the day, only one really could.”

Lindner Fassaden GmbH

“We have been working with ertex solar for years, because it is one of the few companies that can also manufacture photovoltaic custom pieces according to our specifications.”

Andreas Sedler

“ertex solar has further developed semi-transparent photovoltaic cells, making building-integrated photovoltaic cells even more architecturally attractive.”
