Vienna – City of green energy

Electricity demand is particularly high in large cities. Street lights, electric vehicles and, last but not least, public transport stops all need to be supplied with energy. But cities also offer the ideal conditions for sustainable electricity production to meet this increased demand. Wiener Linien and Wien Energie are leading the way. Together with the company Kovoreal-Holic s.r.o., we supplied transparent PV modules for the façade of the Floridsdorf underground station. The 275 façade modules produce a total of 85.8 kWp of electricity and at the same time provide pleasant shade inside the station. In the first three months, the system, in combination with additional modules on the roof and on a neighbouring operations building, generated approximately 120,000 kWh of green electricity and covered approximately 60% of the Floridsdorf station’s electricity needs in July 2025. Environmentally friendly living in Trachslau (CH)

This apartment building owned by Rüti Säge AG offers a lifestyle close to nature. During construction, care was taken to use only high-quality and environmentally friendly materials, both inside and outside (further information here: Rüti Sagi – Erstvermietung in Trachslau). Of course, aesthetics were not neglected either, which is why 80 full black photovoltaic modules from ertex solar were integrated into the balcony railings. Full black means that the PV cells, which are already black, are barely visible thanks to an edge enamel on the front glass, a full enamel on the rear glass and black-covered busbars. The modules are therefore 100% opaque and produce solar power with an output of approximately 19.9 kWp. This is how building is done today.
