On 13 April 2022, we welcomed the team of the Vienna PV Offensive. The programme included both a tour of our production and an exciting exchange of visions and possibilities for a solar future.

“Vienna will be even more on the sunny side of life in the future. Because the city has launched the biggest photovoltaic offensive ever. The goal is to be CO2-neutral as a city by 2040 and an important building block for this is the energy transition. By 2030, the total output of photovoltaic plants in Vienna is to increase from currently approx. 80 to 800 MWp. This requires new photovoltaic areas as large as 90 to 100 football pitches per year.

This PV expansion is to be carried out in a way that is “suitable for cities”, i.e. primarily on existing unused areas such as house roofs and façades, on businesses and schools, landfills and power plant areas as well as already sealed open spaces such as car parks and other traffic areas. One focus is on innovative solutions such as the combined use of photovoltaics with green roofs, as shading elements or roofing for terraces and car parks.

ertex solar is THE specialist for individual, high-quality and aesthetically sophisticated PV solutions, especially in the field of building-integrated PV systems. It is precisely this experience and innovative strength that the Vienna PV Offensive needs in order to achieve its ambitious expansion goals. We are looking forward to further exchange with ertex solar and future cooperation opportunities!”, says Susanne Häßler, Programme Manager of the Vienna PV Offensive.

We thank you for the visit and the lively exchange of information and are looking forward to a good cooperation!
